Cute Houses & Tobacco

I have a thing for old, cute houses, and decaying tobacco barns.
It's true.

Which is exactly why I felt so at "home" being in this home.

What can I say?  It's cute.  It's old.  It's a regular dream house.

And it's also the house where we stayed at for two days of our "Tour of  Some States we've never been to!"  (By the way, that's what I've started calling our vacation...it's kind of catchy.)

Not only was this house charming, it had so many stories behind it and, being more than 84 years old you can imagine just how many stories there were...Hint, Hint: ALOT.

True, it was makeshift, and a little tattered in parts but, that is what added to it's appeal, and made me want to live there forever...well that is if we could move it to Texas because, I discovered I'm not too fond of wooded areas...especially in the dark.

(*Note: When I say "Not too fond" I actually mean that I am the biggest "scardy cat" on the face of the Earth.)

And this is the decaying tobacco barn...

(*I didn't get too close to it therefore, I din't get a very good picture...refer to statement above.)

Now I don't smoke tobacco, or dip it, or eat it, or whatever else you can do with it, but for some reason I am facsinated at it?  How could you not be? It's a beautiful, big, leafy plant that is taller than a small child, and it's grown in pretty much every state we went through on our "Tour of Some State we've never been too!"

In fact, I think I'll start growing it in my dorm room...is that legal?

Serious Talent

Virginia Beach, Virgina.  The place "Where all your dreams come true!"

Or at least that's what my Mom's Souvenir Store shirt said...and I have to say, that after spending just two days at the beach I was starting to believe this wise, and tacky at the same time, shirt quote.

Virginia Beach had no end to the amount of stuff you could do while there.

You could:

  • Mini golf
  • Real golf
  • Swim in the pool
  • Swim in the beach
  • Fish
  • Fight off killer sharks that you think you see in the water waiting for you to turn away so they could bite of your leg...
  • Play in the sand
  • Build sand castles
  • Eat lunch
  • Eat dinner
  • Eat ice cream...lots & lots of ice cream
  • Feed seagulls...(I'm still not sure if this is legal?)
  • Jaywalk
  • Shop
  • And...Boogie board.
Out of this list we did MANY of them...even jaywalk, but Trails favorite thing to was Boogie Boarding...so typical of a Brahman Breeder.

In fact, that's pretty much what he did for the duration of our stay at the beach...

He was getting pretty good too.

I mean just look at that concentration!

Don't let boogie boarding fool you...it takes some serious talent.

This takes some serious talent too.

And you know what else takes talent?

Capturing pictures of a Cowboy in shorts.

And now if you'll excuse me, I better high-tail it out of the country before my Daddy comes home and sees this here photograph.

Goodbye forever.

Peace, Love, & I have never seen whiter legs in my life.

Stories of a Wondering Moron

I am sitting here before you a lowly, and pathetic, and paint-drenched woman that is so ashamed, and so embarrassed of my lack of blogging for the past two weeks....

It really makes me gag when I think of all the days I went without blogging my heart out as I would have normally...but you probably didn't care to know that.

But I told you anyways.

Because I care for you.

It's how I roll.

Speaking of caring...You might also like to know what I've been doing for the past two weeks instead of blogging, am I right?

Of course I'm not but, I'm going to tell you anyways.

Because I care for you.

I care for cupcakes too.

I kinda think they care for me back but thats a different story for another time...

Folks, for the first week of my blogging absence I must have been unconscious because I cannot for the life of me, or for the life of my garden (hint hint: It has no life...and neither do I.) remember what I did?  This is a problem that will probably  never go unsolved and I'll end up on that lifetime show called "Unsolved Mystery's" and will make millions off of my "story" and then I'll get to pay people to make me gardens all day long. (Fingers crossed.)

The second week however, is a much different story because, I vividly remember what I did, and now you will get to vividly see what I did....

Enjoy your hearts out.

The week started in this room....This giant room called the "airport."

Yes it was a foreign concept to me, and yes, I did wear that hat.

Why?

Because I like it. That's why.

After the airport we ended up here.

It's called the "Ocean."

It was beautiful.

It was peaceful.

I think I kinda like this thing called, "ocean."

And after this place we went many, many, many more places.  I was even starting to feel like Johnny Cash....it was a nice feeling.

And I will show you all these beautiful, wonderful, new places, but right now my computer is acting like my sister in the mornings: cranky, and uncooperative.

So for now dear, and devoted friends ( you must be devoted if you're still reading after all these weeks right? Yes. And for that I am forever in your debt!) I bid you farewell while I go and scrub the paint off my skin.

That is also a different story for another time....

Peace, Love, & I've been everywhere man...

Abba

Meet Abba.

As of yesterday, she is the newest member of our family.

And that my friends is a great story in itself...

Abba.
A Rescue Mission Story Retold by Sweet T...Performed By ALT.

As we pulled into the grocery store parking lot, and got out of the car, sweat instantly started pouring off our bodies.  "Gross" was the only word that came to my mind, but "Meow" was what Autumn, my sister, heard.

"Do you hear that?!" She said.

"Nope." I so un-compassionately replied as I marched into the grocery store to buy shortening & onions, an unlikely pair indeed.

So Autumn ignored it to as we made our way through the dreary isles of the local Lowe's wishing we were at a Market Street instead...or at least, that is what I was wishing.

But my sisters mind was somewhere else. Yes, it was still in the parking lot, where the ashpalt was as hot as the sun itself, and where "meows" could be heard.

So after we had paid the bill with our Mothers debit card, our favorite payment option, we made our way back outside, and to the pickup.

As I got in the pickup I noticed my sister waving at me, and in her arms was the frailest, cutest, baby kitty I had ever seen.

And the rest is history.

The end.

Yes.

What you just read is true.

There is a tiny kitty named Abba, now in our backyard.

My sister did rescue her, and feed her, and is now considered her "mommy."  Even though she keeps saying "I don't even like cats!"

Hmph! Like I believe that statement...

You know, i have never liked cats all that much either...but for someone reason this kitty has a special place in all our hearts.

Maybe it's because she was poor, and hadn't a hope in the world?

Maybe it's because she's a kitten, and anybody who doesn't love kittens is just cruel?

Maybe it's because her name is Abba?

Well for whatever reason, I'm glad I have a kind, compassionate sister that I know I can count on to rescue every kitty refugee in the world. Amen.

Peace, Love, & if your missing a kitty...just forget I ever said anything.

Gravy & MayBell

I don't have much to share with you tonight because, Alas, I am very worn out and tired from a long day of shopping...(Go ahead and have your laughs.)

But I do need to tell you this one bit of information:

My Brahman Breedin' Brother has become a Bunny Breedin' Brother....

And their names are Gravy & MayBell, and already I am holding a grudge against them...that is until they twitch their nose at me, and then my heart melts just like a snickers bar on the dash of a pickup.

Peace, Love, & Now I want a snickers bar...

Day of Unfortunate Events

Most kids terrorize their parents by breaking their vehicles, you know: a broken windshield, a fender bender, etc., etc., well not me...

I terrorize my parents by breaking their dishwasher.

OK, it's not officially "broken" but it's pretty dern close...close enough for me to smell it's fear of me everytime I walk by it.  The foam you see in the back of this dishwasher is not meant to be there...its not meant to be there AT ALL.

It all started when I thought I'd be a good daughter, and start the dishwasher for my Mom...well, that was a Bad idea with a capital "B" for "Broken Dishwasher."

That's what I get for being kind...I'm never showing kindness again...I laugh at the face of kindness! HAHAHAHA!

And then I made up with it just long enough for it to hit me in the face with a spatula...

You see this Saturday is my Great-Grandpas birthday, and I was going to make him these cupcakes.

This is a normal routine that I should be use to, and should be able to do asleep...well, obviously I should get some more practise in because nothing went as planned.

First I forgot the cupcake liners which made me ask this question:

"WHAT KIND OF BAKER FORGETS THE LINERS?!"

Well Self...I am the kind of baker who forgets the liners, and for that reason I am doomed to Bakers Shame forever.

This makes me sick.

I tried to cover it up by setting them in cupcake liners after they had already been baked...

Yep it's official, "Bakers Shame" is all mine...along with "Dishwasher" shame.

Remember me as I was before this.

Peace, Love, & The bad part is the day isn't even over yet.  Hide your dishwashers.
